Abstract

Cystic fibrosis is a model of what can be accomplished with sustained support from the government, public, and biotechnology industry.

Our research shows that the NIH funded research underlying >99% of all drugs approved 2010-2024 with an average spending of $1.4 billion/drug approval.1-4 This research creates the foundational knowledge required for successful drug development by industry.
